Shrink discs
Shrink disc connections are friction-fit shaft-hub connections for backlash-free fastening of hollow shafts or hubs onto shafts. As an alternative to the two-piece shrink disc (displacement-controlled), TAS Schäfer also manufactures two-piece shrink discs (torque-controlled) and hydraulic shrink discs . TAS Schäfer is the world market leader in hydraulic shrink discs. Thanks to oil pressure, hydraulic shrink discs can be clamped in just a few minutes, offering a significant time advantage and considerably reducing the workload for assembly personnel. The two-piece shrink discs (torque-controlled) do not have a fixed insertion path, allowing them to compensate for larger tolerances during assembly. The clamping screws of the two-piece shrink disc (torque-controlled) are tightened evenly in a sequential manner until the specified tightening torque is reached. Only when this assembly state is achieved is it ensured that the torques specified in the catalog can be transmitted.
The general applications of 3-piece shrink discs , 2-piece shrink discs (position-controlled), and 2-piece shrink discs (torque-controlled) are mostly the same. Areas of application include, for example, wind power, drive technology, raw material extraction, conveyor technology, comminution technology, mixing and process engineering, and hollow shaft gearboxes of all makes. Hydraulic shrink discs are frequently used in test benches, wind turbines, and hydraulic motors.
