Shaft coupling designs
TAS Schäfer shaft couplings are available in various designs. Depending on requirements and specifications, the appropriate shaft coupling can be selected from the "W", "WLA", "WLB" and "WK" series.
The most compact design is the shaft coupling of the "W" series. This is available as standard for shaft diameters from 10 mm to 270 mm. Special diameters, such as inch dimensions, can also be easily accommodated.
Furthermore, we also manufacture our shaft couplings with improved corrosion protection and special coatings.
For connecting shaft ends with a larger shaft spacing, the shaft couplings of the "WLA", "WLB" and "WK" series are suitable. The connecting sleeves of these shaft couplings are specially designed for larger shaft spacings and can be adapted to any customer requirement if needed.
This is how the operating principle of the rigid shaft coupling works.
All series operate on the same principle: pressure rings or shrink discs create a radial pressure on the functional surfaces of the connecting sleeve. This results in a friction-fit connection between the connecting sleeve and the shaft.
This friction-fit connection allows for the reliable transmission of torques, bending moments, and axial forces . The decisive advantage over other shaft connections is its particularly compact design .
Areas of application: Where rigid shaft couplings are used
TAS shaft couplings are used wherever a backlash-free and secure connection between two shaft ends is required:
- Ship industry
- Conveyor technology
- Mixing and process technology
- General drive technology
