Advantages of hydraulic shrink discs

With the SHS series, TAS Schäfer GmbH has developed a hydraulically tensionable shrink disc that is used throughout drive technology for friction-fit shaft-hub connections.

Thanks to its fast and secure clamping mechanism, this shrink disc is particularly suitable for mounting on test benches and the repetitive clamping processes involved there. TAS Schäfer's hydraulic shrink discs have been used thousands of times for many years in a wide range of applications . Hydraulically clamped shrink discs of the "SHS" type can be found worldwide, particularly in wind turbines , cement production, hydraulic motors, and gearbox test benches . The main function of a hydraulically clamped shrink disc of the "SHS" type is to securely connect a shaft to a hub by means of friction.
