When it comes to connect-disconnect applications in marine, industrial, mobile, and hybrid drive systems, the Logan LCT Series Clutch offers a high-performance, reliable solution. Built with an integral torsional coupling for efficient vibration isolation, the LCT Series is ideal for applications like fire pumps, air compressors, and hybrid drives. This clutch provides reliable performance across multiple demanding environments, making it a trusted choice for OEMs and end-users alike.
The Logan LCT Series Clutch is designed to mount directly on the input shaft of gearboxes or firefighting pumps. Featuring a compact design with a high-torque dry disc pack, this clutch is engineered for efficient power transmission while isolating the clutch, pump, or gearbox from engine vibrations through its integral torsional coupling.
The LCT clutch engages through hydraulic or pneumatic pressure, which forces a piston to lock the friction and separator discs in a multi-disc pack, transmitting torque to a drive ring connected to a sprocket, pulley, or driveshaft. When pressure is released, springs disengage the discs, maintaining clearance and reducing wear. This self-adjusting feature compensates for disc wear automatically, enhancing durability and eliminating the need for constant adjustments.
Logan LCT clutches are designed to operate in dry conditions, with an organic multiple-disc pack optimized for maximum torque transfer. The dry operation requirement makes these clutches ideal for applications that demand high power and minimal maintenance.
Available in three sizes, the Logan LCT Series offers torque ratings from 4,600 lb-ft (6,238 Nm) to 12,900 lb-ft (17,492 Nm), with an operating pressure cap of 200 psi (13.8 bar) and a minimum of 80 psi (5.5 bar). Typical operating speeds range between 1,100 and 1,500 RPM, and enhanced release springs can be added for rapid disengagement in high-speed applications.
The Logan LCT clutch has demonstrated its reliability in some of the toughest applications worldwide. Trusted in hybrid systems on high-powered workboats and industrial rigs, the LCT clutch is used in vessels like the mv. Christopher Parsonage and on exploration rigs in Australia, as well as workboats operating in the Suez Canal. Wherever there’s a need for dependable torque and seamless connect-disconnect capability, Logan LCT clutches rise to the challenge.
